Your wings are so lovely
feathers so silky so smoothe so gentle
red. why red.

What have you done that is so wrong
marked by crimson and so broken you are in the world
you seem to be all over

I would pick up the pieces but i'd laugh too hard
i always laugh when i get nervous
Im shaking too much to try without fear of getting cut

I want to bring you close but I keep you at arms reach
you cant be part of my world because of me
just like i am not one of you

You will go into the sky in fear like me
but i can't go anywhere
so i watch your beauty slip away with whats left of my breath

time goes by as collect your feathers as they float down
it's been a while since you took flight
but your feathers still fall and i count one by one

Sit and be patient wait for time
but time doesn't wait nor do i or maybe that's all i do.
but one can only wait so long in a closed room filling with water

what will you do when i'm not here when you get back
go on with life i suppose right?
what does it feel like to be just a memory

your wings upon my skin were once warm
but anothers skin they will grace
and i will be nothing more than Once Upon a Time.
